• Green Pig Iron is Lower Carbon,  almost Pure Fe, free of gangues when comparing conventional Pig.
• It is Low Carbon and almost Zero Silicon products unless otherwise asked by end user.
• Global Pig iron trade is controlled or, monitored by International Iron metallics Association.
• The Specification of Green Pig Iron is different from market standard Normal , Basic , Foundry or, Nodular Pig irons.

Grades of Green Pig Iron are:
Unless Specified, general market grades are:
a)C < 0.45%, SI, S , P – trace Premium High
b)C ~ 1.6-2.2 C% , Si, S , P – trace Premium base

Applications of  Green Pig  as Metallics / Excellence 

Excellence of Green Pig as in melting:
-Excellent melting characteristics  , lower melting energy compared with scrap *.
-Reduces slag to minimum. Melting practice does not require much oxygen.
-This is emerging as popular metallics and no basket limitation like HBI when in charge at EAF.
-In melting no disturbances and less flickers and almost flat bath if continuous charge is done
-High Fe product and metallic Fe ++ > 0.985.

*Soon Green Pig shall be proven in reducing the overall C footprint of Conventional BF.

A very low CO2 product.

Premiums:
Based on Venus analysis, Green Pig shall
Have premium +$ 80-100/t and HBI at +$ 60-80/t

However, looking at 03/ 2022 US data,
Do not mislead on Green Pig cost !!
